WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

You see the big picture and know how to build it? As our ETRM Systems Manager IT Application Architect, you play a crucial role in managing and optimizing trading systems for various commodities, such as gas, power, carbon and guarantees of origin (GO) certificates.

 

  • You make sure that the system availability, performance and reliability meet the needs of trading and related business processes, including regular monitoring, troubleshooting, optimization and upgrades.
  • As the application architect, you set up portfolios and main logic within the system while collaborating with various stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into system configurations independently.
  • In your role, you ensure that reporting tools are properly configured to deliver relevant information to traders and decision-makers as well as support interfaces to other systems for data exchange, visualization or analytical tasks.
  • You are the bridge between technical teams and other business teams to ensure that the technical setup aligns with company IT requirements, supports trading operations and that any changes to the system are communicated effectively.
  • Lastly, you define the requirements for the future system landscape, assessing current gaps and market trends to improve system stability, efficiency and profitability.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • degree in Energy Management, Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering or comparable field 
  • at least 5 years of hands-on experience managing ETRM systems or other relevant systems in the energy sector
  • a broad understanding of how commodity trading works (Gas, Power, Carbon, Guarantees of Origin) as well as experience in analyzing and setting up business processes and data flows
  • excellent communication skills in German and English, with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • familiarity with programming languages and visualization tools (Python, SQL, Power BI) is an advantage
