The purpose of this position is to perform independently Finance, Accounting and Business Administration tasks within given guidelines and procedures, maintain accuracy and accountability of information. The position holder carries out tasks while maintaining at all times compliance with local legislation as well as Lufthansa internal standards.

The Finance Specialist is responsible for:

  • Ensure local support to collection of invoice documentation and queries with vendors when needed
  • Support in the reconciliation of O2C, P2P, R2R open items, handle escalations of these topics from customer/vendor or business partners
  • Optimize repatriation of currency funds for currency restricted countries according to the local banking regulations; monitor bank balances; manage financial sanctions; reconcile unclaimed payments and account as per local legislation
  • Default administration of agents / customers, mainly travel agencies, and maintain follow up with default administrators
  • Support procurement topics
  • Annual closing activities
  • Handle local payments
  • Define local invoicing specifics
  • Establish contact to local/regional collection companies / law firms
  • Optimal execution of payments
  • Update bank documentation and bank authorizations
  • Identify local requirements for financial statements
  • Identify and formulate local accounting specifics
  • Submit and pay obligatory tax declarations in due time
  • Handle tax audits by local authorities

The ideal  Finance Specialist should meet the following requirements:

  • University degree (Bachelor) in Accounting, Business Administration, etc. and at least 2 years of work experience
  • Vocational Training in Accounting, Business Administration, etc. and at least 5 year of work experience
  • Alternatively, A-level/High School Diploma and 8 years of work experience
  • Fluent knowledge of English both written and spoken
  • Solid knowledge on fiscal law
  • Knowledge of local Tax compliance and regulatory regulations
  • Very good knowledge of MS-Office products
  • SAP knowledge desirable
  • Diligent, independent and systematic approach to work
  • Goal orientation
  • Ability to deal with complex issues
  • Numeracy skills
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Courteous manner and social skills, explicit customer- and team-orientation
  • Ability to instruct colleagues in technical matters
