YOUR TASKS AND LEARNING OPPURTUNITIES
Applying your software engineering skills to enhance a full-stack application, potentially working on the Python backend, the TypeScript/JavaScript frontend, or the cloud infrastructure.
Leveraging your machine learning and computer vision knowledge to help integrate or evaluate segmentation models.
Contributing to the improvement of interactive tools in the space of active learning.
Work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team of scientists and radiologists.
Gaining practical experience with Google Cloud Services (GCS) and Docker for scalable AI model deployment.
Working directly on challenges in deploying ML for medical image analysis.
WHO YOU ARE
Pursuing a master's degree in computer science, Medical Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
Strong programming proficiency in Python.
Solid understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision fundamentals, especially image segmentation.
Experience with cloud platforms (GCP) and version control systems (git).
Ability to understand and contribute to an existing, complex codebase.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German is a plus
This position is a 6-month fixed-term internship starting on 15th August 2025 with the option for an additional 6-month master thesis.
