Mechanical Engineer

Reporting to the DAAD Manager within the UK, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate core mechanical knowledge and a good understanding of CAD and drawing work. We are looking for a Graduate or Junior engineer to join a growing team, within the growth sector of ADAS. The ideal candidate has good degree level Automotive or Mechanical Engineering knowledge and is looking for a career, with the opportunity to develop and establish themselves as an important member of the team. A candidate with a few years experience within Automotive or an applicable sector would be an advantage.

• Working closely with the Senior Mechanical engineer to fullfil Mechanical, Project and gateway requirements.

• Creation and release of drawings using CATIA and WISE systems to support the mechanical implementation of DAAD products on customer projects.

• Mechanical support for customers both internal and external.

• CAD based reviews and investigations of mounting concepts.

• Reviewing, understanding and interpreting relevant mechanical documentation. e.g DFMEAs, special characteristics documents, product specifications and requirements.

• Active participation in regular project and team meetings; Responsibility and ownership of ADAS product elements (e.g. specific sensors, mounting topics) and/or technical project team roles (Mechanical Engineer for given project)

• Working with large international teams, with multiple stakeholders. Communication and teamwork is key. Team & Task workflow management using tools such as JIRA, Microsoft Teams are used regularly.
• Degree-qualified in an appropriate science or engineering discipline. e.g Automotive, Motorsport, Mechanical

• Experience of using CAD Design software for 3D Design, Assembly and Drawings.

• Experience with CATIA V5 would be highly beneficial.

• Good written and verbal communication skills (English language only).

• Good basic knowledge of Engineering drawings and design.

• Good knowledge of Mechanical fundamentals e.g Mechanical Science, Thermodynamics.

• Strong ability and willingness to learn and develop knowledge.

• Familiar with Engineering documents and the style of writing used in documents such as specifications and reports. Able to interpret and understand the key information

• A team player with the ability to work alone unsupervised and with support keep to deadlines.

• Motivated and capable of working on multiple activities concurrently.

• Proficiency with standard office tools: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email etc. is required.
